Wings and Talons

A new oil painting I did called Wings and Talons. I was trying to capture drama in this painting in a couple of different ways. I wanted dramatic light coming through the winter foliage to be kind of like light coming through a stained glass window. I also wanted it to glow through the tips of the wing feathers on the great horned owl.

The second dramatic factor of the painting is the fact that you don't know if the rabbit got away or not. Can you imagine being at the receiving end of death claws coming out of the sky. It's all part of the dramatic world of wild animals. I have an owl outside of my house that I can hear every night. I've witnessed them fly over my head at night in the past next to my driveway out in the country. They have about a 4 foot wing span so it's really cool to see one fly in dim light.

This painting is 18" x 24" and is $864. Just let me know if you're interested.

PAINE OUT!!!
