PRAYING FOR THE HOMELESS

ree

Recently I joined a men's ministry group called THE FORGE. One of the ministries we do is helping the homeless in downtown Kansas City by providing clothes, water, and snacks. We pray with them if they want us to also. This is a picture I painted of the leader of our ministry praying with a homeless man. Our leader's name is Frank but he goes by Pancho. A lot of the guys in our group are ex 1 per centers. This means they belonged to one of the major motor cycle clubs or outlaw motor cycle gangs as they've been dubbed on TV. These guys left the club lifestyle and came to Jesus. I love these men and consider them my brothers. I wanted to capture the feeling and emotion that we get when we tell people about Jesus and pray with them. This man that Pancho is praying for fell off a ladder at work and broke his foot and injured his groin. His foot healed with an angle in it and it's hard for him to wear a shoe. This has turned him into a homeless man because he can't do physical labor anymore. He still does odd jobs when he can to earn a little money. We have built relationships with several of these people and have even helped a couple of them get off the street into housing. I'm selling this painting for $700 if anyone wants to purchase it. All of the money from the sale will go to the FORGE. If anyone wants to donate to our ministry here is the link.
