I've been really busy lately and haven't blogged in a while so I thought I'd share what I've been up to. I recently got commissioned to do the art work for a theatrical show called "A Goblin's Christmas" which is based on a Charles Dickens short story published in 1835. This show will be done as a "Magic Lantern" show. The art will be reproduced on glass and projected to the stage by a lantern like they did in the early 1800's. I'll be doing 15 paintings total for the show and this one is the feature painting. The show should be in theaters before Christmas of 2023. For more info you can contact Kenneth Chumbley at KLChumbley@aol.com.
I also finished this piece that I call "The Fallen One". This painting is meant as a warning more than anything else. Satan will end up in the Lake of Fire at the end of time for all eternity and there is only one way not to end up there with him. Faith in Jesus is the way to salvation!
Every once in a while I like to paint smaller wildlife and try to explore the world from their point of view. As many of you know I live on a lake and I always see turtles fighting for position on one particular log that comes up out of the water. I decided to only do one turtle and put some diffused light coming through the weeds. This little guy is definitely paying attention to his surroundings and will dive back into the water at the first hint of danger.
That's a little of what I've been up to. Now it's time to get back to work! You can buy prints of my work at this link. PAINE OUT!!!
