I love old stuff!

I don't know what it is about old stuff, but for the most part, I LOVE it! Mainly metal type old stuff, like old cars, old barn equipment, etc. But I also love old houses too. Ok, screw it, I just love old stuff! There, I said it. Hi! My name is Melissa and I love old crap! Happy now?!? :)

I think things built back in the "olden days", as any generation looking back would say, were built better back in the day. I believe the truck above is a 1950's Chevy. I grew up around old cars and watching friends and family restore them back to their former glory, so when I see an old goat driving down the road, I get excited. For those of you who do not know, a goat is a Pontiac GTO, and the reason why it is called a goat is because it will eat anything in front of it on the street....or something like that.

I remember when I was about 17, me and my friend were sitting in a Pizza Hut (I know crazy to sit down at a Pizza Hut, right? Can you still do that now?) and I saw a GTO drive by. I said, WOW look at that goat! Thrashing her head about trying to see, she looked back at me with a quizzical look and said. Where do you see a goat? I said, "it just drove by". Again, with the quizzical look, I had to explain "car-speak" to her. She just roller her eyes and we ate pizza.

I wasn't a typical high school teenage girl. I didn't have posters on my wall of Michael Jackson or Menudo or any of the boy bands. Nope, I had sexy muscle cars on my wall and I loved it! Cars were and still are my jam, so when I see an old jalopy on the side of the road or in a field somewhere, I'll do my darnedest to shoot it.

Fortunately, this one was for sale on the side of the road while driving to Colorado. I have this one in a framed print hanging in our living area and I love it. I'll never get tired of this image.

As years pass it is getting harder and harder to find old auto's like this, but when I do I try to immortalize in a digital format if I can.

Do you have an antique auto that you would love to have photographed? I'd love to see it for sure! Give me a shout!

God bless,
